There is no RNAV RNP APP 13L
YOu can use ILS or LOC 13L or VOR or GPS 13L
ILS OR LOC 13L::D111.5 ITLK
HDG/NM/ALT AS IN 010/11/2900

IAF COVIR 010/11/2900 TO
IAF KMCHI 041/6/2900 TO
IAF BUZON 107/4/2100 TO
IF TELEX 135/2/1500 [D8.2 ITLK] TO
IP CAXUN [D6.2 ITLK] R194 D113.10 LGA

I understand there is no RNAV APP 13L this procedure is cancelled already, but I would like to build it but I am novice on FS so if you can help me I will be more than grateful :)

Do you know how to fly an ILS?
Mr.Boeing Dec 3, 2015 @ 8:26am
Yes I know, I am asking for a RNAV for RNP AR training :) The RNAV APP 13L has some particularities very interesting. Thank you for your time KLM149 :)

OK - I'll jump in here just to see if I can confuse this even more ... I am a big fan of finding weird and wondrous approaches. Usually non-precision approaches with or without features like teardrop PTs or HILPT.

Mr.B: You say that the RNAV approach to KJFK Rwy 13 has some 'particularities' (which is a word, I just now learned - but wonder if you mean peculiarities) very interesting. And you state that this is a required navigational performance (RNP) approach and is an authorization required (AR) approach. So - it sounds as if you have some information on an approach that is not currently in use. The only RNAV (RNP) - AR approches I see for KJFK are for Rwy 04L/R, Rwy 22L and Rwy 31L/R.

What is your source of his RNAV (RNP) - AR Rwy 13L information?

The only thing that remains currently is the intersection ASALT. Here is a rough approximation of the approach based on the plate you gave: {LINK REMOVED}

If you load this into Plan-G you can add your point of origin then export the file from Plan-G under a different name. Otherwise just load this into FSX as the flight plan and navigate to ASALT. Once you're at ASALT this should do something close to the original approach but I cannot guarantee that you will have the 0.3 NM RNP but it might be fun to find out.

This approach reminds me of the Parkway Visual Rwy 13L/R approach at KJFK: https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/1513/pdf/00610PARKWAY_VIS13LR.PDF

Hi Dan-TXHills, did you delete your last post with all great explanation? for some reason it is not there anymore, do you have a copy of it? I was trying to follow up. thanks anyway.

I can not open the first file .pln :(
Dan-TXHills Dec 18, 2015 @ 12:48pm
I was able to load it into FSX but unfortunately it does not recognize the user waypoints. Sorry about that - I don't think there is a solution unless you use something like FlightSim Commander then use that to feed the autopilot instead of the GPS in FSX. I actually made the flight plan in FlightSim Commander so if you have that I can send the FSC version.

Much more fun to do the Parkway Visual. Another fun one is the River Visual to Rwy 19 at KDCA. Have done that RW and FSX does a fairly good job on the terrain and landmarks. Make sure you don't land on Rwy 15!!

I gave a detailed description on how to build the 13L RNAV in this post

You can completely calculate your VOR approach by mathematic formulas.
It is also possible to fly even better approaches without GPS and RNAV, its called manual decreasing of altitude and speed so you make a perfect dropdown circle manually, if needed.
But well its the future and the kids want to train what airlines expect of the next generation, computer handling, like in formula 1, its not driving even more, its now computer handling, same as for future pilots :D cheers

Thanks yellowJacket, it is very nice explained

Have fun with your automated landing, in the 80s and 90s it was the captains thing to land the aircraft, I prefer to turn it off 10nm before the airport and have fun using my sidewinder.
