Ideal landing speed for A320?
I can't get to grips using instrument landings at the moment so for the time being , I'm doing visual approaches. What speed should I be when touching down with the A320? Thanks!

Is it the Aerosoft version of the A320?

It's by Project Airbus

The good landing speed on approach for the A320 is 140-155 knots, depends on flaps, weight of aircraft and fuel

Ah thanks! It was down to my foolish thinking, I assumed that because the A320 and Boeing 737 are a similar size, that the landing speed wouldn't be much different, so I ended up coming in too fast with the A320.

Glad they solved the problem:)

I usually land 5 knots faster so the landing would be a little smoother.

Aircraft manuals, tell you land speed, take off speed, cruising speed etc, just so you can look it up next time for any plane

Can't attest to the accuracy but this is an interesting document:

What you want is the Vref table. Weight appears to be in 1000's of pounds.

Also it might be 138-150

I get to fly in the left seat of the A319/320 in RL. Our jets have CFM engines compared to the IAE engines shown in the link Dan provided. Typically our landing weight is anywhere from 120,000 to 135,000 pounds. We fly anywhere from 45 minutes to over 4 and a half hours. Some carriers fly NY to the west coast. If you land in Config 3 (Flaps 3) your approach speed will be 5 knots faster than Config Full (Flaps Full).

Having said that, if you are in Managed Speed, AND you have "Activated" the Approach Mode in the MCDU you will see a magenta (purple some guys call it pink) carat on the speed scale of the Primary flight Display (PFD). That magenta carat is your approach speed. Be advised, if you have Autothrust engaged, Fifi will not slow immediately back to Approach Speed, you must select Flaps in increments to get her to slow down.

To activate the Approach Mode the MCDU has to have your Destination (landing) airport loaded, and you press [PERF] on the MCDU then the button at [6L] where you see *Activate Approach. Fifi can automatically activate the Approach Mode when you fly over the magenta circled D displayed on the Nav Display (ND).

landing speed is typically VREF+5kts. To find VREF, go to your FMC's landing page and find the VREF for the flaps setting you are using on landing. If you can't find it in the FMC, google it, or look in the fsx manual for the A320/A321

Project Airbus Air Malta A320 final approach at LOWW 29 with 150 knots, should look like this, if not, make a go around and try again.
