Security alert message
Security alert about certificate out of date or not valid has just appeared when booting up FSX steam. Been using it for years with out this appearing. I have followed the steps to install the new certificate. Messages says new certificate has been install but still getting the alert. I know that you can just continue with the sim but I want to remove this security alert. ...Baltimore Cybertrust root....microsoft RSA TLS CA 01 .... microsoft studios.com .
Any ideas or instructions or directions to a solution would be appreciated but I should mention that I have little knowledge in this area.

Thanks for any help

Got the same alert and did the install, still get the message because Steam hasn't updated their Security Certificates on their servers the best thing is keep approveing and run the sim the time the sim is online is minimal and your security software should due it's job.

I've written to Microsoft Support and they told me that this is the problem of Steam. The team should restart the game server

Another possibility is go to Setting / General / uncheck "Show opening screen". This start in your flight default directly.

Maybe steam wants everyone to leave FSX and switch to MSFS?

That could be possible. But with the amount of add-ons available for FSX I doubt it. Maybe later when the 3rd-party community for FS2020 catches up that will be true.

I'm sure Valve is aware of the problem. It's just that there is an easy workaround to mitigate the issue: just click through. It's not blocking. It's probably on their list of known failures, but just isn't high enough on the priority/severity chart to assign the necessary personnel to handle it. They've only got so many people. They'd have high pri/sev issues assigned to take care of first. Then if they have time to get around to it, it will be addressed. But there's always new issues rolling in that bump it down the list of work items again. You know how it is... :\
Same problem here... :(
