Ctrl-K will allow you to turn on the joystick functionality in FSX

In addition, does your joystick show up when you to to Settings--->Controls? You should see a pull-down box something other than Keyboard and Mouse Yoke.

Have you calibrated it and set up the axis in the control settings? You need to make sure the joystick is set up to roll, pitch, throttle and yaw in FSX control settings - FSX is notoriously stupid at doing this itself.

i'll try that

Failing that, see if the joystick has its own control panel or software that you need to use for calibrating.

I have the Logitech Force 3d Pro. It worked fine for the original MS flight simulator program, but when I fly the FSW version, Mech Warrior or Elite Dangerous, all the additional 12 functions seem to have a mind of their own and perform all sorts of weird functions. On Elite, left on the joystick will bank left, but on the second application left it starts to zoom!.

I have unloaded and loaded the drivers for this, but to no avail. I have gone into Logitech program, without being on flight simulator, and have managed to assign all the correct functions that I want, have calibrated and tested ok, but going back to any program requiring joystick control is a nightmare.; Please help if you can.
