FSX:SE Out Of Memory Error
I just installed Windows 10 and now getting Out Of Memory error . Followed several work arounds like VAS settings and editing fsx.cfg file. Updated video driver. Game played well in Windows 7. What's the fix?

Yeah Prepar3D looks pretty cool. I have a dislike for Microsoft. I would rather run Linux.

How much RAM does your system have? Windows 10 eats up more RAM than older Windows so if you have like only 8 GB then you may not even have the maximum of 4 GB that 32-bit FSX is able to use.

You can reduce the out of memory errors by dropping LOD_RADIUS by one notch, which makes the most difference, and by reducing autogen amount and complexity by one notch each. Doing these virtually eliminated OOM errors on my system.

Another option is P3Dv4 which doesn't get out of memory unless you actually run out of RAM. :)

Good luck.

Thanks LHookins, I decreased LOD_RADIUS from 4.50 to 3.50. No more OOM issues with FSX.

You would figure that Microsoft would have accommodated these changes after rolling out Windows 10 newest version. Problem solved.
