GPS recommendation for FSX
Howdie,

I am looking for some sage advice as to a GPS addon that functions well with most small to mid sized planes. Complexity does not matter as I will spend the time to learn it but I do need a reliable one that will do most all of what I need a gps to deliver. Thanks in advance

You could look at the G530 from Flight1. But I think it'd be worth investing some time into learning how FMC/MCDUs work, especially when it comes to aircraft that have them.

Thank you Stow for that recommendation, I will surely do that today.

If you want to go beyond the stock Garmin 500 and G1000, next step is to use a liner FMC. Like ones from feelthere ERJs for instance, not too complex but realistic.

Realistic is what I am after, checking now thank you

Just one thing about the 175 and 195 DLCs, the weather radar has been deactivated from the original feelthere version.

Why not use the GPS that comes with FSX already?

Good question, it is my understanding that the default Garmin will only load an existing FP and I would look to be sitting in the plane when making the FP I wanted. Does not sound like its significant but I'd like that availability. Correct me if I am wrong

I have added it to a few aircraft that did not come with gps and it does load the FSX flight plan.

If you fly GA planes a lot, I recomend Flight1 GTN750. But you cannot update NAV data yourself. You must wait for Flight1 launch the update because it hook into GARMIN.
