Joystick Issues
So I own a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick, and while yes I know it's old it still serves me well. I've never had any problems with it while playing games. My issue is with how the stick usually auto centers itself and stays rather firm, but with FSX is just seems to go limp and won't auto center like it should. This is the only game I've got this problem with, and I mean I've used this joystick to play Euro Truck Sim 2, older versions of X-Plane up to v9 and even with Star Wars Tie Fighter. My question is, is there something I can do to fix this issue?

I've got the same joy stick and they don't make them like this anymore. I have no problem with it centering when plaing FSX so in Settings, make sure it is recognized. Then try calibrating. BTW, do your other games have provision for the stick to self center after stopping the games. By this I mean that normally after I finish with the FSX game and the stick is not centered after I stop the game it will automatically center as it should. However, so it won't jerk hard, I manually center the stick to prevent it from snapping. BTW Force Feedback 2 is no longer available for sail although on Ebay you may find a used one for over three hundred bucks. So hang on to that stick.

My joystick is recognized both by my control panel and in game settings as the Force Feedback 2, but do you mean in game calibration or just through the control panel?

I can't help with the issue - check drivers and calibrations, I guess. The Sidewinder FFB 2 was a tremendous stick for its time, a real beaut. Hang on to it! However, if you ever see the original Sidewinder, that's even more of a collector's item. They made that baby so good you could fly a space shuttle with it.
Well real drivers are nonexistent, at least drivers that can work on Windows 7. Guess I'll have to see if there's something I can do to make auto center work again. And to think I didn't have these problems with the disc version of FSX and FS04
