For starting I recommend taking the lessons provided by the game itself.
learn the basics, get a "feeling"of how to handle an aircraft, learn to navigate ( VOR/NDB)
try to handle the airplane on landing ( practice ILS )
Then contiune to fly with an 2 engined plane ( things wil be at a faster rate) and master VOR/NDB/ILS even more.

then turn over to a small Jet, and redo the instrument flying again ( speed will be increased)

All of this step by step learning curve is provided by the game itself.

After that basic knowledge , you can challenge yourself with "simulators" within FSX-SE itself
for GA - A2A aircraft
for Tubes PMDG / Aerosoft Airbus

Good luck in your Journey

The enjoyment you get out of this game will depend on how much effort you put in to learn the various systems. Check out a guy called 'Doofer911' on YouTube he does some great easy to understand tutorials.

If you want to play FSX like a game, definitely do the Tutorials which although old are still very good. Start with the Cessna. The glider is very good, too, although the setup for a glider is a bit complicated for a beginner.

If you want to become serious about flight training, you will want to read this book:

Gread Grud, it's on sale! There is no way I can reccommend this book enough, it is THE BEST PERIOD. It will get you flying like a real pilot startting from zero experience.

It's a thick book all right. You can safely skip the section on how to set up your computer, as that's out of date. After that, you get tutorials and classroom lecture, like in a flight school. You read a bit, you get the tutorial, you try the tutorial, you go back and compare what you did with what the instructor wanted, and you get some additional info. The tutorials aren't large, but there are a lot of them. As you go, you'll see progress and be able to navigate the book better, just like you will be able to navigate your aircraft better.
