FSX Steam Edition Auto Update Feature
I dont call it a featue when everytime you add DLC you are forece to redownload the entire package vs just the changes. I purchased FSX Steam Edition about 5 days ago, and over the course of those 5 days I am over t 80 gb bandwidth usage for this one game- this mandatory FIXED update process is completly insane.

STOP the madness STEAM.

Community - You need to SPEAK UP before your ISP starts charging you usage, and it will happen. Force STEAM to employ a better update solution. Users should NOT require a re-install + content every time we buy content, and the updates keep growning. I started at 12 GB now double that each day, currently at 25gb.... I just received a Thank You note for my Steam Purchase....I know what I would like to say to STEAM, and it is not thank you.

Let STEAM know this is an issue before YOUR paying overage fees to your ISP.

Are you saying whenever you buy a DLC, you have to redownload the entire game and on top of that the DLC as well? Because if so, this is definitely a problem on your end, because it does not happen to me.

Sometimes it is a smart idea not to immediately blame everybody else and look for mistakes on your end.

If I have misinterpreted your issue, my apologies for the sentence above.

Yeah. This isn't normal. I think you have some sort of problem on your system. I downloaded FSX one time about 8 months ago. I've got a couple DLCs and none of them downloaded FSX again.
The Steam update system has functioned properly for ALL my Steam content and I've been using FSX-SE from the beginning. My advise is check your Computer System completely along with your data link. There are a number of of good utillities to ID problems that have been building and offering fixes to problems. BTW I've got 2300+ flying hrs and a medium performance system.

I'm assuming that the other comments here are incorrect and you're not downloading FSX every day but just full DLC packages.
Unfortunately your dream of only downloading changed code will never work on Steam's platform. Updates must ALWAYS be packaged in Steam's full package to properly process versioning, dates, cache checking/fixing, and a bazillion other code requirements most of which I don't remember. Full games get away with smaller updates by being more modular than most DLCs which are in one package.
Your only real choice with DLCs is to uncheck a lot of them on your main game page and only activate the ones you want to use at any one time.

I would be hesitant in buying Steam add-ons. Updates are late. Better functions buying direct.

My igornance caused the re-curring downloads.I had un-checked the "installled" options in DLC thinking incorrectly it would "disable" the addon - not.
Anyway, I learned the hard way that one disables addons within the FSX environment not Steam. Sorry for the post.
