Menu Screen is too big

When I play the game, it goes to a full screen mode and it works fine.

But when first loading the game, the screen is oversized and some of the menu options are below the task bar where you can't click on them.

Tried changing the resolutions, but this doesn't effect the opening screen.

Anyone have a fix?

In TV picture settings Game Mode is off.
Alt+Enter has no effect.
TV Screen size is set to Screen Fit. The 16:9 aspect ratio makes the desktop too large to fit within the screen borders.
I do not install my games on my windows drive, they are all on a seperate drive.
Under F:SteamLibrary:Steamapps:Common:FSX I right click on the FSX Application Icon and select properties. Under the compatibility tab I do not see a check box for Open in a normal window. THe run as administrator was unchecked however and I am about to see if that worked.

Checking the Run as Administrator box also had no effect.
I am able to play the game by hiding the taskbar tho, which is why I had posted in the first place.
I was unable to even click on the Fly button to start a mission. if you have any other ideas I will give them a try. Mostly I am glad that I can at least play the game, despite this minor annoyance.

Over the weekend I will try running FSX SE on my 54" TV and see if I can reproduce the same situation and, if I can find a solution, I'll let you know ASAP.

Meanwhile try going back to: F:\SteamLibrary\Steamapps\Common\FSX\fsx.exe and right click on the FSX Application Icon choosing 'Pin to Taskbar' - or - Send to Desktop to make a shortcut icon.

Right click on the new icon and see what you can find in 'properties'.

You should be able to see a Shortcut tab.

Ok, properties from the shortcut does have the run in normal window option and it is set to run in normal window.

Hi!

OK so I hooked up the TV with an HDMI cable and started the TV which was set on 16:9 and the DT was too big as you say.

Looking a little further in the TV - Picture - settings I changed it to - Movie.

Whether game mode is on or off makes no difference to the screen size.

With the Steam window open it is sized so that the task bar is visible.

When I click on Play the FSX windows displays at its regular size and all of the buttons [Briefing & Fly] are clearly visible.

When I click on Fly the game loads and runs at full screen with no task bar visible.

So I am guessing that there is a setting in your TV that might do the trick.

If not then I am sorry to say that I cannot think of anything else.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It's 5:00AM so I'd better hit the sack pronto.
