Plane wants to keep going straight up on its own?
Whenever I get my plane into the air, it will automatically start changing its position so it's facing straight up and keep climbing. If I level it out and let go of my yolk, it still goes back to how it was before.

Hi, 'straight up' for any period would be hard to imagine unless it was a rocket, but my first thought is, do you have the trim tab set properly for level flight? That is one suggestion; if not that, then maybe more information will end up being helpful. Best regards, CEC

I have no idea what you just said, lol. All I did was choose my route, load in and start flying. I know nothing about planes, so I only start the plane and start flying.

Trim helps balance out the forces affecting the aircraft. Most of the aircraft in FSX have an elevator trim wheel near your seat. Adjust it forward to make your nose more 'heavy.' If you use a joystick, two of your buttons may already be assigned to the elevator trim wheel.

Also check your autopilot to make sure that it is off and not functioning. There is something there called VS or IAS or something like that where the autopilot will maintain a given vertical speed or climb to a given altitude.

If you have never flown simulators or airplanes before, it will be extremely helpful to research the principles of flight (Thrust, Weight, Drag, Lift). This will give you a more clear understanding of what your airplane is doing ... and why.

What kind of airplane are you flying? If it is a powerful one with a lot of thrust (jetliners, propliners, combat jets) then a lot of thrust will keep your plane's nose up.

Then I strongly recommend at least doing the ingame tutorials and do some research. You can also try to figure things out on your own, but expect to have some catastrophic flights at first

In the case of the plane going up by itself, that's usually what happens when you set takeoff thrust in planes with powerful engines. Most airplanes have certain tendencies during flight, such as the tendency to nose up or down too much instead of staying level, or in the case of some world war 2 fighters, they often started turning by themselves (happens a lot in any well-simulated P51-D), which is why the plane has things called "trims", which, in short allow you to compensate for those tendencies without having to manually correct the plane with the yoke. Pitch trim is the most common one, and would solve your issue: if your nose is going up by itself, you apply negative trim to compensate, and vice versa.

Another way you can adjust your rate of climb is by reducing the throttle, that will naturally cause the plane to stop going up. Usually a combination of trim and throttle control is the way to go to keep the plane flying as you want.

Haven't found the "lessons" and licensing flights inside of the LEARNING CENTER Yet?

Earn your Private Pilot Licence Reward in FSX by successfully reading & flying the 7 "private pilot lesson flights" there, not just the Tutorials in the missions section and you will understand and get more rewards than just the icon. Also can learn/earn earn commercial licenses, good tutorials.

There are two bugs in those lessons that I teach how to fix in my videos of me flying those lessons. Here are the first three lessons and lesson 5 bug fixes videos:
