Freeware Live Weather Addons

What’s the best live weather addon that I can get? FSX’s is semi-accurate but lack winds aloft data. I tried FSXWX a few weeks ago and it didn’t work at all. I also tried FSRealWX and the data it pulled in from NOAA was accurate, but it was inaccurately inputted in the sim. Any other options available?

Wine as in the drop of drink created by mashing grapes and fermenting ;-)

Active Sky Next has winds aloft data. Plus much more, start the tool before FSX and you can also load your flight plan, it will pick up live weather from weather stations along your route. On the MAP you can ensure it's locked to your aircraft's position & the map will show clouds layers/hurricanes around your aircraft etc. Also has a pop-up weather gauge to install into any or all of your aircraft. And it's always been accurate for me.

Sounds like the best option then; at least that’s what I’ve heard so far. I guess there aren’t any more freeware options left

AS16 is not free, but is well worth it.

Tried fsxwx, didn't work badly, but has a tendency to eventually slow FS to a crawl with enough wx updates...

At the moment I am trialing the FSrealWX 3.0 add-on. It has a 30 day free trail period then costs around 20 pounds. I found out that I also had to download simconnect (free) otherwise the FSrealWX would not connect to my sim. So far it appears to be working quite well.

That and REX Sky Force look like the only 2 main options and are paid. Thanks

If you want better you can use ASN (20 Euro)

Have you tried watching a tutorial. The install process is complicated

Yeah, I set it up right
Used to work for me back in 2017-2018, but the data just isn’t taken into the sim anymore for me
