FSX:SE Addon Problems
So im a paying customer and I had FSX:SE for quite a while now. So recently my flight sim had did an update out of no where and someohow I go into my FSX and choose the aircraft that I want and I notice that it took out all off my payware and freeware addons from my FSX and yet I go to check my FSX directory and go into the airplanes folder and everything is still there so I went to uninstall FSX and manully delete any other FSX directories that I could find in any of my drives. After I reinstalled my FSX and I go reinstall my addon planes back in FSX and I go to load up flight sim and once again I notice that there not appearing in the aircraft selection area. I need a soulution to this idea if theres someone that can help with this that would be great thanks.

If there's someone that can help with this that would be great . Thanks.

I am guessing that you did not follow the official uninstallation procedure, which is essential:

https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/knowledgebase/article/View/78/0/how-do-i-reinstall-microsoft-flight-simulator-x-steam-edition

Uninstall first.

Then run Disk cleanup and tick ALL of the boxes.

Clean up the registry with CCleaner, just be careful.

Read this article and run the DISM commands followed by sfc /scannow

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

Reinstall Steam FSX with all of your Add-on boxes checked.

VERY IMPORTANT!

As soon, as the installation indicates that it is 'complete' do NOT believe it.

You MUST do this first.

1. Right-click the FSX game entry and choose 'Properties'.

2. Open the Local files tab and click on 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' to make sure that the installation actually IS complete. You might have to do this more than once.

Miss this step and FSX will NOT run properly.

Make a drive image of your installation - before - adding any more DLC.

Have you tried verifying the game cache?

Make sure the "show all variations" box in the aircraft selection menu is checked off, it's at the bottom, and very small, so it's easy to miss.

This may not be your problem, but it's worth verifying anyway.

Not sure why you think this is necessary. I've installed FSX:SE on 3 different systems and all have worked perfectly with just the standard install procedure.
