This works much better:-
1) Set up in Free Flight. [Aircraft]. [Airport]. [Time and Date]. Then in [Weather] choose >> Themes >> FSrealWX. Then load flight. Pause. Minimize.
2) Open FSrealWX 3.0 and wait a few seconds for it to connect to sim. Then select [Download WX] and wait 20 seconds for the weather to download and setup model.
3) Back in FSX. Unpuase and wait a few seconds for the weather to update - - and you are good to go.
It appears I can leave FSrealWX going on in the background with periodic auto updates now.
I am not presently interested in all the other flight planning functions in FSrealWX - I just want the weather.
Still have a few days to go before my trial period (30 days) runs out, so I have not made the decision as to whether I will purchase and continue to use FSrealWX yet - - because it is fairly pricey ? ? when all I want is the weather.
