EDIT: I jsut did a quick check of the AH forum and it seems others, too, have problems with AS. But the AH developer uses AS himself without problems and is, therefore, referring users to AS for solutions.
For a 4 (quad) core CPU without hyperthreading, that value should be set to 14. For a hyperthreading 4 core it should be set to 84. For FSX, a dual core CPU can't have an effective affinity mask set for it.
Use AH2 in networked mode.
Configure the settings of AH2 to save the flight files to your FSX save game location - most likely
C:\Users\....\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files
Here is my process:
Start ASnext
Start FSX
Get error
close FSX
Start FSX
Start AH2
You will need to start FSX before you fly a job in AH2.
Set up your job in AH2 and accept it to where it will save the flight file and flight plan. You will get a message in AH2 to load the FLT file in FSX. Go to FSX and load a save game but choose the AH2.flt file as your save game and choose 'Fly Now'. Go back to AH2 and select OK to start the AH2 tracking. You should see a process that shows the connecting of AH2 to FSX. Once connected click OK. Go to FSX and fly your route.
Active Sky works fine. Networked mode side steps having AH2 launch FSX.
Well, that's the way I am doing it. Good luck.
