Most jets have 2 master annuciators, warning and caution. If the jet you're flying has an ECAS it should list the caution errors in yellow, and warning errors in red, and general messages in another color. If you just want it to shut up, clicking on the big red MAST WARN light should turn it off until something else pops up.

I don't fly Airbus aircraft, but the master warning can mean overspeed, low fuel, or some other potentially major malfunction. Quite often a long beep can indicate that your flaps have been deployed early (going too fast for the level of flaps deployed) or that your current speed and flap setting necessitate your that your landing gear should be down and locked.

The next time that this long beep happens see what it was that you did before the warning sounded, and reverse it if possible to see if the beep stops. :-)
