FSX:SE & FSRealWX - is there any point?
So I downloaded the FSRealWX 3.0 and set it to connect to the the FSX File in the Steam directory.

Why do the most stupid people develop this software and release this into the market when I get noting but error messages saying it can’t connect to FS?

Either I’m going crazy which I very much doubt, or the developer is being an idiot.

Has anyone else had a connection issue with FSX:SE how did you get around this?

have you tried FSWX?

http://www.plane-pics.de/fsxwx/instructions-fsx.htm

I've only used this on regular fsx boxed, but it may work on steam version.

Yes, both are and does a better job visually than the original default one.

11:16:41:608 - (Controller) - JobID:1 JobName:Connect Finished, Error: 1

Ignore those message by default logging was set to error throws everything even before you were connected to sim. Go to settings change log level to debug. In settings if it is set to auto connect if you start FsRealWX before FSX you will see errors throwing in the window

https://prnt.sc/qgih21

Next start FSX select your choice of Airplane , Airport or location and go to FsRealWX and click connect if everything goes well you will notice weather downloading if not go to settings, select interface tab select simconnect as interface and click test connection,if you don't see pop up window in below screen then most likely you didn't set up properly

https://prnt.sc/qgihrm

This is what screen looks like if set up correctly notice connect text is replaced with disconnect

Have you specified the path to FSX executable in the config? FsRealWX doesn't have auto config.
I use exactly this version (switched to it from the version 2), with FSUIPC interface. Works fine, although the interface became worse with this new version.

I made a video about v2 back in the days. The settings are the same in v3, although their order has changed.

FSRealWX is compatible with FSX, FSX-SE, P3D and X-Plane, so it's a very good investment (in case you'll need advanced functions like flight recorder after the trial).
Also besides doing better visual job on depicting weather, it models icing conditions thoroughly, by the Dew point (difference under 2 C & OAT under 10 C).
