Need Help with A321GPS and Localizer
Hey everyone,

i was flying A321 lately. Yesterday GPS And Localizer was in sync to destination. Today when i began new route i am unable to keep sync, what really happens is that, flight banks to left, way off on GPS line. Any idea how to fix or correct it. For now i am using default Heading switch keeping plane next to gps line. if there is a solution i would like to check on this. i also adjusted localizer Mhz of approaching before take off. so just wanted to know if something has gone wrong.

Thanks

This is a recurring theme, ie. problems with the default FSX A321. You could probably save yourself a lot of time and frustration by just downloading and installing one of the many excellent freeware A321's that are available at places like AVSIM, SimViation, and a number of others. Trust me, almost anything will be an improvement over the default A321.

Set the NAV/GPS switch to GPS that way the plane will fly the plan in GPS mode set the switch to NAV when you want to use the localizer to set your approach and landing

Thing is after switching both gps and localizer the trouble began, it banks way too left , never follow the gps line

When using the auotopilot to follow the GPS course the NAV/GPS switch [far left] must be set to GPS and the Nav Hold Switch [LOC] switch should be ON so there is NO need to use the Heading [HDG ] switch at any stage.

As you - intercept - the ILS you should be down to 4000ft so that you get under the glide slope.

[I downloaded a free add-on which gives me a whole range of Lear Jets in different liveries.
There are two voices; one reminding you to lower the gear, another announcing your altitude on approach and warning you as to when you reach 'minimums'. Then a countdown giving your height above the runway right up to touchdown.]

Sorry don't remember the name of the download and I no longer have it on file. The Lear Jet has a much better autopilot than the A321, in my opinion.

When you think that you will intercept the ILS switch to approach [APR] and wait for the ALT light to go out. The A321 doesn't have one which is a BIG mistake. You can mouse over to check it.

As the aircraft is not equipped with LAND3 [Fully automated landing.] you need to disconnect the autothrottle and land the aircraft manually at the last moment, when 'minimums' is announced pressing Z on your keyboard to turn the autopilot OFF.

Depending on the category of the ILS in question you may be guided to the runway centerline, but not all ILS can do this.

A lot of people on this forum have much more experience so you'll probably pick up a few more pointers.

Quite often a saved flight gets corrupted and the only solution is to delete it and make a new one.

Precisely as to why this happens, I have no idea.

As a matter of interest would you tell us what your departue and arrival airports are...

thanks for the info. ya i got these. My problem is after swtiching to GPS , i need to hit localizer.. when i do it, the plane is not following the route, instead it keeps banking left, and keeps rounding left. so i was trying to figure out how to get that bearing to follow the flight plan ATM. i know when we hit Localizer, The Heading gets switched off automatically. Since then i have this big issue atm..

There is sometimes a problem with the Flight Control on this fly by wire Airbus.

Try Shift + 5 and on the left of the panel under FLT CTL turn off:

Elac 1 - Sec 1 -&- Fac 1

.... and see if that helps.

Otherwise I suspect a corrupted file.

If you make a new flight plan use a - different - A321

Hope that I got it right this time.
ok let me check it.. thanks for info:steamhappy:

Is this a stock FSX A321 or an Add-On?

If it's an Add-On you might need to re-install it.
