FSX can not access for than 4GB RAM. Since you still have not posted your FSX setup, I'll just suggest tuning down the graphic sliders or dissably some FSX add-ons.

1. Do you have DirectX 9 installed?
2. if no - install it or switch to DirectX10 Preview mode.
3. - if yes - :steamsad:

I have the excact same issue - after I press "Fly Now" screens flicker [5 monotors] and resolution lowers on some pieces of windows [they are re-located by FSX] Then black screen and hourglass after about 2-3 minutes the program either shuts down or the "not responding" message appears.

FSX(SE) uses DX9 with a DX10 demo mode. Having the latest and greatest PC will not fix some of the problems with FSX(SE). Understanding the problems and its limitations is what's needed.

Try disabling your add-ons and drop your settings. If all problems are gone, start re-adding your add-ons one at a time, preferably just the add-ons you plan to usem such as only load the scenery upgrades for the areas you plan to fly and not the areas you don't fly as often.

Also, have you verified game files after downloading?
Lowering resolution at least to 1600*something might help.

Thank you for the rapid responses. I don't have any "add-ons" that I am aware. I had installed the program from disks and then found SP1 & SP2 for FSX and installed both - still had issues. Yesterday I then went and bought the Steam version for $10.00 and it installed with a warning about having the disc version and losing data & add-ons of which I have neither. This morning I uninstalled FSX SP2 from add & remove - left the Steam install intact.

Would the latest D/L of the Stream version require SP 1 or SP 2?

Of note my FX home screen states. "If you were connected to the internet right now..." So FSX can't seem to get to the internet.

Well I have made significant progress - first disconnected within windows 7 - 2 monitors and lowered resolution - 'fly now' started!! Upped the resolution within FSX and then in win 7 itself - OK so far. Added the 4th & 5th monitors - still OK. So got all 5 monitors at their max resolution to work. 'Saved' the flight. Of note this is with Direct X - ver 11.

Had to use the Undock function to get more than 1 monitor in use. But got 5 different views up and running.

When I restart FSX and double click on the saved "flight' FSX hangs

FSX:SE already has all the Service Packs included
drgasmail Jun 25, 2018 @ 5:16am
Thank you - I figured that but glad to have it verified. Any idea why the FSX home screen can't find the internet?

Microsoft screwed the redirect from their page to DTG page, and they aren't even trying to fix this.
