Maybe just grab the base game then look up some freeware missions
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/101/fsx-missions/
https://simviation.com/1/browse-Missions-59-0
or there are 3rd party sellers that stock mission packs too
https://www.justflight.com/category/flight-sim-add-ons/mission-packs
https://secure.simmarket.com/fsx-missions-page-1.chtml

Thank you very much for your replies and links; I didn't realise there were third party packs for missions - quite the wealth of info, much appreciated! Suppose the only option presently then is just to grab the vanilla, base game and add on from there with the links you've provided.
Unfortunately, Pegasus, the stock price at their official store is a bit beyond my means... with luck the pack will one day return to Steam.
Once again, thank you two very much!
Good morning Cryss,
I am disappointed that Steam has not revolutionised FSX Acceleration by - removing - all of the jokey Microsoft missions such as Loopy Larry, etc. and giving your customers an equivalent number of substitutes in the form of twenty, or so, modern aircraft, removing - all - of the Red Bull pylon racing events which should really be offered as a separate add-on package, given that this is a minority interest 'sport'.
I am equally disappointed that there are what are known to be satanic missions such as Amazon Trek and chasing fictitious alien spacecraft with US F-18 Hornets.
These are the things of Hollywood and Disneyland fantasy and cannot be taken seriously.
Having said that I find that the aircraft dynamics are far superior to either X-Plane 11 or Prepar3D both of which give the impression of being works in progress.
So, on the subject of mission packs, how about offering a - tried and tested - quality mission pack at a reasonable price to atone for the above failings aimed at giving all of your customers better value and guaranteeing full satisfaction? Mick Jagger please take note...
Best regards,
A not too dissatisfied customer.
