thank you very much. because of you istarted searching. i read that carenado really is like the real life c152. what would be the benefit of me buying the justflight one?
My advice would be to stick with the 152 that you already have and then, when you outgrow it and feel the need to upgrade to a more detailed simulation of a more advanced GA plane then have a good look at the offerings from A2A who make, without question, some of the best GA add on aircraft for FSX and P3D.
The ones to look at are those that come with the 'accusim' expansion which adds a lot of extra realism features. Only one of these is available on the Steam store as DLC, the others you can see on the A2A webpage
https://a2asimulations.com/
they can be bought from most of the main FSX re-sellers too such as flightsim.com, simmarket and the justflight store etc.

I want to get into flight sims more. I would just assume to avoid all addons for this and focus on X-Plane but perhaps not entirely... but I was under the impression most of the addons on Steam are a waste of time except the Accusim and ActiveSky addons and a couple others..
Accusim is nice but isn't really vital is it? It just adds a bunch of options right?
X-plane doesn't have ground effect? Or does that depend on the aircraft, not base game?
Yes it's a pretty good C152 if you specifically want a 152. But if you want the most detailed cessna/piper then the offerings from A2A with accusim are hard to beat. Look up some youtube reviews (there are plenty) of their 172, 182, Cherokee and Comanche.
Don't confuse the accusim expansion (it used to be a separate expansion for each aircraft but now it's all bundled together) with Accufeel which you can buy here on Steam. Accusim adds a lot a extra features including pre flight walk around checks, maintenance hanger, persistent state for the aircraft (how you leave it is how you'll find it next flight), failures etc.
