Does it just go blank when you 1st load the sim or just when you get to flying? If it's the latter, I would look into power management. I wonder if your 2nd monitor is going into sleep-mode due to no mouse activity on it.

Are you running in full screen mode? Try hitting Alt+Enter.

Yep, I agree, I'd say you're in full screen. I think you need FSX to be in windowed mode.

I agree I need to be in Windows mode. My problem is I cannot figure out how to get there, I've looked at every keystroke there is I've gone through every single page that I can find on set ups and no where can I find where I can switch to Windows mode. Someone suggested Alt+Enter but that didn't work it is the key command to raise the seat up so you can see over the cowling. I just got through reinstalling the all the software for SFX but to no avail.

You need to be in flight, pause the game press alt so the menu drops down or right click and unchecked hide menu, go to view, click on windows mode.

The way I use my double blank screen is to put the ATC chatter window and and the popup instruments windows shift+# give it a try see what way you prefer better.

Alt+Enter is the correct key command, you may want to check your control settings, in particular, your eyepoint (move up) in the view subsection.

If it is set to Alt+Enter, change it to something else. If it is, I'm surprised MS let that key binding over ride such a crucial command.

Thanks for your help guys, I did get it into the window mode although my second monitor is still blank. I have dragged some of the panels to that monitor. I use the Saitek side panel along with my CH yoke which gives me a extra 25 buttons to program. Then I draw a map of the buttons on auto CAD and put that on the second monitor so I can see at a glance all the commands. I don't even have to touch my keyboard between the yoke and the side panel I have more than enough. But with that blank screen I cannot put the map up where I can see it. I'm old so the memory isn't as good as it used to be and I need that aid.
Thanks for all your help guys I really appreciate it I would just have to learn to get along with a blank screen

Have you set up your 2nd monitor before you launch FSX?

You do this by doing this:

Make sure you have your 2nd monitor plugged in and turned on.

Right clicking anywhere on your desktop, then click on display or graphics options. Look for a multiple monitors option.

Then you have 2 choices, mirror and extend, you want to extend. You will then be given more options about which monitor is your primary one and where to position your other monitor/s. From there, you should be able to move your mouse from the primary screen to the other/s as if it is one screen.

Then launch FSX and all should be good.

Wouldn't that stretch the cockpit across both monitors? I don't think that is what he is wanting.

My monitors have already been set up and have been working for months just fine in every game I have played and I have got lots of them both monitors work as expected. The only problem I have had so far is that it doesn't work in FSX.

No, you have your main view in your main monitor then you pull up a new view window, such as left, right, or what ever, then undock it and move it across to the other monitor, then resize it as appropriate. This works particularly well in windows mode as opposed to the full screen mode.

I have done this in the past, so I know it works

Just bear in mind that using multiple monitors requires a good graphics card. I was running them off a laptop, but the resolution on the 2nd monitor was not that great. When I connected a 3rd it was worse.
