Controls suck
When i bought this game i assumed the controls would be like WASD and you use the mouse to look around. But NO. I have to freaking to like control right shift and like NUMPAD 6 just to look to my right. How could i setup the controls to be really simple?

Please help.

It's better to know, rather than assume things about FSX/FS:SE. ;-)

Press and hold the spacebar and move the mouse to look around. Directional controls and view controls are on the numeric keypad. The Num Lock key toggles between the two modes. Also, you can look up all the game's keyboard commands in the Settings menu.

every key can be reassigned if you wish.
but you really should get a cheap joystick.

Simulator; Imitation of an operation of a real world process or system over time.
If everyone could fly an aircraft with a keyboard and a mouse who would fly coach?

Flying is easy; learning to fly isn't. You have to read and learn to know. ;-)

Flying is a complicated affair. Go through the flight training sections, I'm sure you will get a lot out of it.

Hey Beagle,

I got this game yesterday and after only two missions I am flying my planes and landing (mostly) successfully. Every plane model is different and you need to know what you have to do.

Of course, I am flying in what seems to be 'easy mode', but I feel fine about it because I am learning. I am huge fan of truck simulators and I don't appreciate that sarcastic comment above :)

Believe me, only two missions and you will be ready to go. Make sure to click P to pause and unpause, then right click and select Mouse Yoke to control the plane with the mouse. I find it much easier than arrows on keyboard.

and thats why you need a jiyastick, you only need a few basic keys, like flaps, gear, its not that hard.

You can sort it out as you go.

You can pause the sim when you want to know or change a key binding by pressing the p button to pause, and again to unpause.

Then if the menu bar isn't displayed at the top, you can press the alt button (holding the alt key down makes it disappear). Then options/settings/controls. It's all self explanatory after that.

You going to have to et a joystick or use the mouse to control the plane. You could use a steam controller or a flight yoke for flight simulators. But I recommend you get a Yoke or a flight stick.
