Best book to really understand all the cockpit instruments?
Hello, even though I have some experience with flight sims, I am trying to find the best book or literature (can be a website page) that will explain in a simple language, with pictures or diagrams at least the basic of all flight instruments.
If you can give me some hints please do so.
Thanks in advance!

The 7110.65, while good info, deals with Air Traffic Control. I don't know think that is what the OP is looking for. If you were going to buy a book, I'd say go for Machado's. It covers everything in simple, but informative language. I think the Airplane Flying Handbook, you can download free on the FAA site. That one has more about basic flight maneuvers than about instruments.

You are right, I need the insides of the aircraft first, I will deal with ATC later but I will save the doc for later.
Thanks.

Go to Doofer911 on youtube. He gives good explanations of all instruments

The FAA Books can be downloaded.

https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/

Also the best FSX training book I have found (including instrument flying) is this one by far ..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-Pilots-Training/dp/0764588222/ref=pd_sim_63_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3QXYVQQVMWY5TJV9ZF39

The content within FSX learning centre is also very good - and you can create a shortcut to read that in a window outside FSX - or even when flying.

Steve's suggestion is a good one. That is the book I have as opposed to the second link I provided.
The owers manual of the aircraft you are interested in would be the best place to begin.

The POH is perfect for performance, checklists, emergency procedures, w/b, etc. Doesn't accomplish understanding how an altimeter works, why pitot tubes and static ports are important, how to effectively tune and track a VOR, why a wet compass lags or accelerates in a turn, etc.

h3avy_ra1n, the sim has a built-in Learning Center where you can look up all the major instruments. The built-in Flying Lessons will cover a lot of features in simple to understand terms.

Thanks to all of you for the comments!
Cheers.
