My other (related) question is, what should you suggest I do in a case like this? I'm flying for a reason –I want to see some sights– so I hate to just skip a leg of my 'Round the World flight like this. Is there any way to advance the time? Can I do the same thing as the switch from VFR>IFR>back to VFR with the time as well?
I am using "Real-World Weather" but I think it's the "snapshot" version, not sure, but I can check. What's the best way to get a chance to do my tour of the Canyon, then stat flying again? Dang, I should probably just turn weather off, since it's no fun flying blind, but that's not very realistic.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, what's the best way to "kill time" in the game without it being a chore?
One instant it will look like this:

Split second later, zero visibility and there was nothing visible a second ago to warn me it was coming.

Not worth having it enabled if it's going to be so absolutely binary and no warning signs it's coming. Sheesh.
I know, but what's the point of having a visual sightseeing tour through a bunch of clouds? I'll just have to balance what I feel is worth putting up with, I guess. I like the idea of real weather to have to deal with, so I can always turn it back on for the rest of the trip.
And there's just no reasonable way to tell when a particular weather event (such as fog) is going to be over in FSX. So, landing and waiting it out just isn't a feasible option, not to me anyway. If you could somehow advance the time in the game to when the fog was cleared, now that would be an option I suppose. Guess I'll try advancing the sim's rate of time passage to see if I can come up with a workable solution.
thanks for the help
