Worldwide or just in one area? How do you know they are missing? From the Airport List?

World wide and because I previously had the downloaded version from games for windows live and also there are no airports in the UK like Heathrow INTL or Birmingham INTl

Weird. What happens if you get in a plane and actually fly over those areas where the airports are supposed to be? Can you still see them on the GPS?

The amount of airport scenery you see is based on the scenery complexity setting. Many of the major airports must have the scenery complexity set to Extremely_Dense. You must also have a minimum of Autogen set to Sparse.

Yeah I've had some airports not showing up at all. Graphically I mean. Chicago O'Hare being the best example. The airport is there, but it has no buildings when I go there.

As yellowjacket points out, if the airport is there but there are no, or few buildings then go to your scenery settings and increase the scenery complexity and autogen setting. I have all the buildings showing and since these are all stored in the files installed with FSX:SE it is most unlikely that they are really missing.

A good setting to check that sometimes get messed up especially when you have an original version of the game (Games for Windows) already installed, is to check your Scenery Library.

In the Flight Simulator Lobby, Click Settings on the Left-side, and then "Scenery Library" on the right. Make sure all of the boxes are checked. In particular, 'Western Europe'. Even if everything is checked, still click "Ok", not "Cancel" and it should re-compile your Library.

If that is checked and there is no luck. Check your game data through steam; In your Library, Right-Click on Flight Simulator and Select Properies, Click the Local Files Tab, and then Verify the files. It may take a minute. Still no luck, you can try a complete reinstall (remove and re-download/Install. But that's lengthy and probably not going to help at this stage anyways.

Also, for some reason i've seen Anti-Virus programs block files from Installations. So if you've got one, disable it for a reinstall/file verification and see if that makes any difference.

My last bit of advice are freeware databases that may be compatible with FSX:SE
http://www.freewarescenery.com is great,

for you (OP) Try:

No its not that the airports aren't showing when flying over them, its that there not even in the airport list to select as a destination. I have emailed dtg and they are aware of this problem and it is being fixed. Thanks for the support though.
