[SOLVED] Multiplayer Port Forward
I am wanting to host a multiplayer session however no one (of my friends) can seem to join or find my session in the lobby. I have port forwarded 27001:27030 and 6112:6122 and still no cigar. All my firewall settings are correct and I thought I did everything. Any suggestions?

SOLUTION: Port forward the respective ports above, and turn off the firewall while playing the game.

I have found the issue, I port-forwarded both ports and even though my firewall is allowing FSX to go through, you still need to turn it OFF.

It depends on the type of network you are connected but i am assuming at home it is private. Therefore you turn off firewall for private networks.

BE SURE TO REMEMBER TO TURN IT BACK ON AFTER YOURE DONE

This should help...

1.) Go to start, and in search programs and files, type CMD, press enter.

2.) In the command prompt, type IPCONFIG, press enter.

3.) Note your IPv4 Address of the current machine you are using.

4.) Go to internet explorer and login to your modem. Normally, this can be achieved by typing 192.168.0.1 in the search bar and pressing enter. You can google your login and password for your modem if you do not know it and have never changed it.

5.) This is optional, but strongly encouraged. You don't want your machines' IP addresses changing everytime your modem resets. You'll want your IPv4 address to stay the same, so you need to go to your LAN settings and find the option that reserves your IPv4 addresses. You will need to enter your IPv4 address and most likely that machine's MAC address. In my options, those addresses were listed at the bottom of that page.

6.) Go to your modem's port forward settings, and add ports 6112 and 27016 to your primary machine's IPv4 address. If you have a secondary machine, maybe one that acts as a server, make sure you port forward that machine's ports 6113 and 27017 with it's IPv4 address. Save all your settings.

7.) Do not turn off your firewall, just make the exception. Go to Windows Control Panel, system and security, Windows Firewall, Advanced Settings, and add ports 6112 and 27016 for both your Inbound and Outbound rules. Make sure you make them UDP and TCP. You'll need to do this for your secondary machine as well if you have one, but with the other ports.

8.) Launch FSX. Make sure your network settings in Flight Sim have the correct port listed for that machine.
