in the last couple weeks, addon scenery not functioning. ADE sends bgl to adddon folder but it doesn't translate to the game?

I do a lot of BGL making and I have found that they only work if they're placed in the correct Scenery area. I don't have any idea why this is so.

All my BGL's are made for the Pacific Northwest so I have to place them in FSX\Scenery\0101 to make them work.

Good luck :)

If you have problems with ADE you might get the best help on the support forum at www.fsdeveloper.com.

However you should not put your addon or updated airports into a stock folder as suggested. It may work but it can also cause problems since you are relying on the happenstance of file naming. You should understand how FSX loads files and the priority order. This article describes how priority works: https://scruffyduck.screenstepslive.com/s/help_docs/m/20268/l/199760-priority-matters

So your modified file needs to load after any stock files.

As to the OP you say you are putting your modified files into Addon scenery - but exactly which folder? It needs to be ..\addon scenery\scenery. Also how do you know your mods are not showing up?

thanks for you're reply, and yes I'm putting them in the correct folder, everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago, now FSX is not writing new files on restart.

OK I understand that but I am still not sure what the problem is. I assume you have made changes that are not visible on the ground in the sim. It seems you are saying that FSX:SE is not honoring changes which it did before. If you have an example then we could check it.

I think the problem is with FSX, I was shifting some files and accidentally moved some other files and have no idea what they were. I'll just hunt around until I find them, and hopefully all will be forgiven.
Thanks for your help

Well that is a compiler error about a generic building. I am not sure how that error can be caused in ADE since pitch and bank are not accessible properties. Unless that is you have a ProKey and accidentally changed one of these in the Raw Data View.

However you can see in the error message that the bank value on this building is 242.5 where it must be zero. I assume that you have an ADE project file (.ad4 extension). It you send that to me then I will take a look at it for you. Do you know my email address?

No mate I don't have you're address, all I changed is the position of 3 items and their direction
