ILS freq' in FSX
Every new airport I fly to using IFR I have to spend time digging up frequencies, in particular ILS. Some sites it's easy to find, others not so easy.

Is there a way to get ILS localiser frequencies within FSX or is there even a quick lookup site that anyone wants to share?

So far I've noticed that FSX localiser freq' matches RL so curious why it's not readily available within the game.

(In RL, is this information given to pilots via ATC or is it expected you know all of this when you lodge your FPL?)

I just found a quick and simple site. Pop in the ICAO (in place of XXXX) and get all freq's associated for that field including ils/twr/appr etc...

https://flightplandatabase.com/airport/XXXX

The ILS frequencies are in the FSX map. Press Alt to bring up the top toolbar, go to World, then Map. You can then click on any airport and it should list all the runways with their ILS frequencies.

Ahhh... Thank you mate.

Just found a site that gives it for my notes but wasn't aware it was ingame. I use Plan G and rarely use the FSX map (for obvious reasons)....

Cheers.

I don't use the GPS either, probably why I've never seen it.

Thanks also stickmon.

Pla-G has the info - just hover over the airport with your mouse (need to have the Information box open)

They're also available when you create a flight plan in the Flight Planner. Once you create your departure and destination, click the Find Route button. The map will appear. All the waypoints and navigation aids are clickable and display their respective information and frequencies.

Again. Thx all immensely.

Sounds very much like I should do myself some favours and actually read user manuals. ;(

Most regions on the VATSIM network will have airport approach charts. i.e. czyz.ca lists all the airports in the Toronto FIR. Download the charts for the airport that you want and all communication frequencies, headings for runways, ILS frequencies etc are all contained in the charts.

For the US airnav.com has sectional maps, airport maps, basic runway information, STARs, departure procedures, and most importantly IAPs. The IAPs show all possible information for various runway landings. The CAT II - III ones give all the information you could possibly want, including frequency, runway heading, altitudes you need to be at to intercept the frequency, etc.

A free program called 'Quick ILS' available from the AVSIM library will give you ILS frequencies and runway lengths. And it''s quick and easy to use -just type in the ICAO code.

If i plan a flight I use Simplates if its something that I dont have time to really plan I use the GPS and enter the airport there if the plane dose not have a GPS just use the inbuilt map:culterl:
