lolol dude :) try to buy the vrs f18 one day.......it will blow your mind :)
it will indeed blow your mind
they also have a natops manual, as well as a wiki page on the FA-18(VRS version)
and the sludge hornet, do a google search for each
I don't really like freeware add ons because I started having problems with FSXSE when I began using them.
Mike, you have said the VRS F-18e had some bugs a while back?
I'm just trying to make what I have work.
I got greedy and tried adding a bunch of excess I didn't really need and it didn't work out for me.
I hope you get all of your issues sorted, as FSX:SE in its current state BLOWS the old FSX away in so many ways. Enjoy the sim, and I hope you get it all sorted
It could have just been a progressive issue that got worse as the time of installation of FSX increased.
It seems like all the flight sims I have ever played would progressively develop errors and issues the longer I played them and eventually quit working.
this is how i do my installs, I download the airport/plane/waterconfig/aiformation/aicarriers, whatever else that interests me, then i install 1 item, if it installs fine, i test it over and over in different situations
then I do the 2nd item, if something isnt right-i dont like it-whatever i just un-install and move to the next item, it is a drawn out and lengthy process, but I know that my sim will run each and every time i run it, doing exactly what i want it to do.
example-
I install aicarriers(java version) bugged and crashed with java runtime errors
AICarriers requires uss_nimitz_ike package to be installed
uninstalled iacarriers and installed the aicarriers net4.0 version
that runs great, tested over and over
install Dino Cattaneo's aircraft(known to run well, install all of em)
test each aircraft with aicarriers to make sure the .net version is working with those addons
next i love flying with other aircraft
installed formationsetup
load fsx:se, loads aicarriers automatically, as well as simvar extensions
start at ANY airport(not the carriers for this type of testing)
once on the runway/parking area, I run formationsetup, select any aircraft i want to fly formation, usually 2 fa-18's and 2 F-14s just to see them orbit the airfield on an 8 mile track, at 5000 feet
then i just takeoff and watch them, or fly with them, whatever i happen to be in the mood for
I love what DTG has done to improve the sim in its current iteration...and can only hope their own version when released is at least this well thought out
I didn't make a system backup before adding stuff to FSX.
A big NUB mistake on my part.
At least I learned with a computer that cost about $500 and not one triple that.
if i screw it up i can revert back to the previous install
