Your Computer has ran out of available memory

This is a probelem when i start up fsx steam edition and it comes up with a small error window saying that my computer has ran out of memory please restart the sim.
I have looked online and all i could find was posts from the disk flight sim.
This is a probelem that i do-not know how to solve but am struggeling to play flight sim beacause of this issue if anyone can i whould appreciate it if anyone could help me solve this probelem A.S.A.P

More information is needed. What are your PC specs - GPU, CPU, RAM? Which operating S ystem -32 or64 bit? Any addons? Any other programs running at the same time?

the problem that you are finding with the disk version still exists with the steam version, as this is still a 32-bit program... so you have to manage your VAS carefully... chances are that you have your detail sliders set way to high... there are several blog posts and forum posts all over the internet regarding the problem and solutions... search google for "FSX OOM error" and find one that seems to work for you... as everyone's setup is different is is very much a trial and error kind of thing to find a solution that works best...

16 gb of ram
Nvidia gforce GTX 970

No addons just plane Fsx with some of the DLC

You shouldn't have too many problems with a system like that! Try turning all Traffic to Nil and Autogen to Normal as a starting point.

What's your OS - 32 or 64 bit?

Thank you but i am cofused beacasuse i cannot accsses fsx when the error occurs i carnt change anything beacause i cannot get to settings inside fsx any suggestions why

open FSX.. in the opening menu click on settings (on the left side), the new menu that comes up has five pictures, and below those are some buttons.. click the button that says customize.. this brings up a new menu with 5 tabs across the top of it... click on the middle tab, called scenery.. first I'd suggest setting scenery complexity to normal, and setting autogen density to normal. then go to the last tab that says traffic.. change the airline and GA traffic to around 10% and airport vehicle density to minimum.. then set road vehicles to 0... then, EXIT FSX so the settings will save.. FSX does not save the settings if the game crashes, so exit the sim and the relaunch it, and go for a test flight..

The only thing is i cannot accsses FSX what so ever it wont even load up when the error comes up i close the mesage and FSX closes which is a very big probelem.

okay, then something got corrupted.. in steam go into your library and right click on FSX and select properties.. go to the local files tab and click on verify integrity...

I would try deleting the FSX.CFG and LOGBOOK.BIN(in hidden directories)
FSX will recreate them, with standard settings...that should allow you to run FSX:SE
also might wanna run steam as ADMIN
