Progressive Taxi Issue (SOLVED)
So, it's certainly nice to be back at FSX. But, my progressive taxi seems to disappear unless my view is looking straight back in locked spot (which doesn't help me when I am moving forward). I saw that this is a known issue from the very beginning, and some say that it is due to SP2. Is there a way to see if SP2 is already installed by default, and is there a way to revert it back to SP1?

Thanks for any help.

Happy Flying!

It is a very long time i had the same issue.. But I solved it by installing a new "graphic shader" .

If you have problems in dx10 mode with progressive taxi not showing up or flashing on the taxiway then you can try this...
http://www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/2452-stevefsx-dx10-shader-fix-ver-321/

Here are a 4 page progressive taxi guide..:
If you cannot navigate the page, then use the search field and type progressive taxi then you can see all 4 pages about the topic..:

Thanks a bunch!! That shader patch worked perfectly. I actually did not have DX10 on when I posted this. When I enabled it, I was not able to see the arrows from any angle. This download fixed it though!

Thanks again!

i downloaded the DX10 Shader Fix. But how does it get installed and where?
The only file that came down is - 3D Shaders V3.11.rar.
I ran FSX but I still have a problem with Progressive Taxi not displaying.

I don't remember to be honest. I would check but I recently reinstalled windows and FSX has not made it back onto my computer yet. I'll reinstall tomorrow and let you know where it goes.

Thanks but all is now OK. I downloaded Steve's DX10 Shader Fixer from AVsim and it installed easily and fixed the problem.

Thank you for posting this. Good to know that it is still working even on Windows 10, but needed a simple tweak.

For this to work on my machine I needed to modify the dowork.vbs file and comment out the "read only' check as Windows 10 will report the file is RO even if it is in fact writable.

In more detail, for anyone else wanting/needing to apply this...

    1) Open the 'dowork.vbs' file in notepad, don't use text editors like wordpad as these add extra hidden characters.
    2) Search the file for "readonly" [note no space]. I found the block of code around line #174
    3) Now comment out all of the lines in that block of code by placing a ' [single quote] at the start of each line, starting with the 'IF NOT...' and ending on the 'END IF' line. 4 lines in total in my copy of the file.
    4) Save the file and run as directed in the instructions that came with your download.

Enjoy!
