Directx 10 - Bug - Fix?

Hello,

The bug directx 10 for fsx steam will be repaired? Is there any solution to the bug textures?

It would be only my FSX or a GAME was made available in trouble?

The game is not cheap

If you want to use DX10 full time, I suggest purchasing Steve's DX10 Fixer found here -> https://stevesfsxanalysis.wordpress.com/2014/12/30/dx10-scenery-fixer-will-be-temporarily-unavailable/

Otherwise, deselect the DX10 Preview option in your display settings. FSX-SE does work fine in DX9 mode.

DX10 mode is better, so I purchased the fixer.

Microsoft stopped work on this title a good while back. DoveTail Games are currently working on a new flightsim and even if they had time I doubt they have sufficient rights to edit this title to that extent.

Unfortunately your options are really limited to DX9, DX10 with it's glitches or DX10 with Steves fixer.

You could also try this from the Avsim library:

shader_release_v3.2.3.zip

It is an early freeware version of Steve's DX10 fixer which may work.....then again it may not.

My suggestion is to stick with DX9, especially if you have an ATI video card. It's perfectly fine.

I've been using FSX OTB under Win7 since it was released and this week I upgraded to Windows 10 and purchased and installed FSX-SE on a fresh Win10 install with all the latest updates and Nvidia drivers and the FSX -SE menu's are all black under DX9 meaning it's unusable.
The menu's only work when I tick the DX10 box, but under DX10 a lot of textures dont work for my addon aircraft (the free shader release above does not fix this).
I purchased Steve's DX10 fix and am glad to say everything now works under DX10.

Did you install DX9 found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\FSX\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe ?

No I didn't I presumed a steam installation would be a full installation, it should be made clear somewhere that you need to do this. Anyway I'm glad I bought Steve's DX10 fix it is much nicer in DX10 than DX9.

DTG are a bit reluctant to offer Win 10 support so there is an assumption DX9 is already present. For some DX10 isn't an option, with or without the fixer.

EDIT: Most of the time DX9 has been installed for another program on Win10, not the case if FSX is the first program you try.
