[SOLVED] Unable to Create Default Cache Directory
Every single time I start the simulator, it says this:
Unable to create default cache directory: 'C\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX-SE\SceneryCache'
And then the only thing I can do is click the 'Abort' button supplied to me, then FSX shuts down. Is there a way to avoid this or change said default cache directory?

Your steam FSX should be in a different folder... This directory is for boxed version. That is, if you're using FSX:SE, your scenery would be in a completely different place than what you have listed.

I don't really know much about how FSX caching works, but is there a way to change this directory? Like in FSX-SE.CFG or something?

No clue. I don't have this problem. Recommend installing FSX:SE in default steam directories "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\".

Did you look in the C\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX-SE\ if there is already a sceneryCache folder? Try to remove it if so.

Had to run it as administrator. Problem solved.

(darn you and your admin stuff dovetail, I never had this problem with the boxed version)

It still says it for me even when i have ran as admin.

I have this issue but I installed this with Steam, and also I used a different .exe to have admin as false so I didn't have to log in to FSX as admin.

Check the ACL (Access Control List) on the target root folders have Modify for the .\users group and that those permissions are pushed down the directory tree to subfolders and files.

Yep it's a technical subject, and if it's all greek better call the geeks :-)

I got it XD I just had to rename my FSX folder from FSX to FSX-SE

can someone help me i tried evrything it keeps saying fille cant creat cashscenery and i tried renaming the folder still did not work plz help and when i run is as admin it says steam must be running to play this game
