Error Creating child window

Anyone had this problem when using 2d panel. It causes the game to crash with a window that says "Error creating child window"

Yeah I did the exact same,

same here. Today's the first time I tried FSX:SE after upgrading to 1709 (Win10/64). On Avsim there is a thread about similar issues. On my rig strange things happen when I try to adjust time/season, but so far only with addon planes. I have AS16 + ASCA and a few pw addons.

This has made FSX completely unplayable for me. It needs to be fixed.

It appears to be more stable for me in windowed mode but I still can’t open any menus at the top on the screen.

The new creator update creates this error "Error creating Child Window" for both my Aerosoft and FSLabs A320.

Okay so the problem is not DLC related but windows related if you recently installed a DLC to fsx or reinstalled fsx there is your problem it may be another weak before windows or aerosoft can patch it if notified my friends at Microsoft and they have told me they know about and are working on it, also the problem could be related to ASCA and Active shy 2016 as they try to load in an extra panel into every aircraft, what has worked for me is on a fresh computer restart make sure you clear all weather in fsx and run dx 10 and it should work "should" not will .. (and yes I know I said not DLC related the problem is leaning towards a Microsoft issue)

Just installed KB4048955 . Ran P3D v3 and ran FSX both still give the "Child window error" and crash to desktop :( I thought they would fix it !!!!!!! Running addons FSLabs A320X and PMDG 737

I have not tried recently but last time I ran in I was getting all sorts of errors in the drop down menus. I have switched to X-Plane 11 and I am loving it so far. It just works all the time.
