Error real world weather every 15 minutes.FSX default
Hi, I don't know why, but for some reason, FSX isn't downloading real world weather anymore for me. It says "An error occurred while downloading Real-World Weather. Please check your Internet connection and configuration and try again." I have no idea why, I even turned off my firewall and security, and the problem still persists. The funny thing is that it was working fine just yesterday, and even before that! Please help!

Morag, Even if the Active sky failed connection to server..!! weather will be downloaded on FSX?
And what about the time ? will the app know the local time and weather at the airport of Departure and weather of destination airport?

active sky doesn't connect to the same weather server, it will download its own weather data then generate the weather in the sim. you don't need to do anything in FSX to make it work or to connect to it. Set FSX weather to clear skies and Active Sky will do everything else.

If you want to use Active Sky you need to buy it
https://hifisimtech.com/

if you want a free weather program try here
https://fsrealwx.net/

you can get the previous version of Active Sky as Steam DLC, Active Sky Next. It's a little cheaper than AS16 and not much different.

Active Sky uses a different server to download its weather. That server does not use FSX and it is continuously maintained by HiFi (the people who made ASN and AS16). I use ASN and the server still works even though it is no longer being developed in favor of AS16. Check your settings to make sure Active Sky is correctly pointed towards your FSX install folder.

Also I have the same problem and it seems very strange that until a few days ago used files residual cash, also at the same time that stopped working the weather has also stopped the program IVAP, only that after IVAP has resumed working but the weather does not , can be a problem of some update of the game?

Non-Geek figured this out. WX works better than the old active download of Jeppesen. To do what I did you MUST purchase Active Sky download on Steam. That's just the beginning. Once downloaded, go to your "C\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\DLC\364340". First read the "read me text file" as it will help somewhat. Most important is right click on the ASNext.exe file and create a shortcut for your desktop. The open the exe file. NOTE: This MUST be opened PRIOR to starting Steam up! At the top of Active Sky Next go to "Search" and put in any weather conditions you are interested in flying in. Double click on the ICAO that you want for your destination. The go to the original screen of Active Sky and select the "Flight Plan" button located at the top. Pick a suitable departure ICAO within your desired distance from your destination and then enter the arrival ICAO you selected in your search. A flight plan will be created when you select a drop down that is over on the right. Note: you have to select a cruising altitude to get this to work. Then hit the "Save" button. NOW you can start up Steam. At the bottom of the Active Sky App it will say "Waiting for Simulator" until you fully start Steam then it will turn green and you are good to go. Now go to Steam, insert your aircraft type, go to flight plan and loan the saved flight plan. Set up your other conditions and choose "Active Weather". You will still get an error but ignore it. Once you are on the field you will "see" the current weather conditions. Happy flying!
