You will not be able to find as it does - not - exist for download.

I have had the same problem when an older DVD reader would not function.

I made .ISO files from the DVDs on a new computer, transferring them with a USB stick to the old computer, and installed using a virtual drive.

I also burned new DVDs and those will also install without problems.

I would like to know why you can't run your DVDs?

Are the DVDs damaged, or is your DVD reader faulty?

Which boxed edition do you have?

This might help to get your MS FSX installed:

you can't activate the Steam edition of FSX with the key for the boxed version. You need to buy FSX on Steam to use the Steam version.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Hey! thanks for the reply.. my DVD reader seems faulty.. runs for 3 seconds and stops.
the CD's looks in good condition.. although i might be able to get my old dusty laptop to read them, but it seems a long story to do.
i have had the gold edition which is the deluxe+acceleration expansion.

i would want to know, how did you make the exact copy out of the original disc, as they not allow me to copy or paste any of the content inside them, (some files will not be copied)

I used Ashampoo burning suite.

Don't try to 'copy', make an .ISO first.

I hope that you will let me know if you succeed.

Have you tried a DVD drive cleaner disc? Just put it in the drive and as long as the drive is able to run it is supposed to clean the optic automatically.

Or maybe invest in a new or second hand CD/DVD drive.
i'm trying to run the discs right now on an old computer.. other discs run smoothly but the fsx ones wont be detected.. idk what to do right now. although i have tries to clean them up until they turned to be as shiny as a mirror,,

My eight year old computer's DVD reader wouldn't detect them either.

I did these tasks on a one month old computer.

I think that to succeed you'll need to find someone with a recent computer.

Or you could see if you can borrow a good - external - DVD reader.

Or maybe a Computer shop or friend can help you.

You'll need a USB stick with sufficient free room, as the three .ISO files total 10.9GB
will.. while trying atm i have managed to run the acceleration disc lol..

Post back when you have got it activated, installed and running successfully.

If there are any further problems we can take care of those as well.

One scratch can destroy sufficient data to make the disc 100% unusable, unfortunately.

Unless there is the possibility of downloading the damaged files or extracting them from another DVD.

I have repaired one once as it was only the music track which was destroyed by replacing it with a much shorter music track. The game was Diablo III which I was given for free. Got a good price when I sold it as it had the Expansion disc.

I hacked the Paladin and Necromancer characters so that I could always win by using a Character enhancer.

So it looks like you'll need to find a specialist to see if the disc data is recoverable or not.

Using toothpaste was not a good idea. Washing in lukewarm water with only three drops of mild detergent, using a soft cloth, can work if the disc is contaminated with coffee or cola, etc.

If you have any chance of succeeding you'll need to find someone with a recent computer.

Or you could see if you can borrow a quality - external - DVD reader.

Or maybe a Computer shop, or game shop, can help you.

I can't do that unless you can pay the flight and hotel expenses. :D

Bad luck.

There's always Steam FSX, especially when it's on sale at a discount.
well.. i don't care as much for it.. i may attempt to get a specialist to fix it, but it doesn't matter sense i was going to get some memories out of it, + it probably wont work as good on windows 10.. i had the discs laying in the storage for like 7 years now,, anyways if i get any solution with it,, i will share it with you,, thanks for the replies /!.

Runs very well on Windows 7 & 10 64-bit if you apply the 4GB patch. I have it running on Windows 10 on my other desktop PC.
