reinstall the game
In all games, like this one. When the game is installing, one of the items is:
Microsoft Visual C++.
In the: PROGRAMS AND FEATURES location on the computer, this where the: MVC++ would be located. Accidently that feature got deleted.
All I have to do, now. Is delete and reinstall this game to get the MVC++, that's in this game back into Programs and Features on this computer, so that the game would run smoothly.
How do I delete and reinstall this game with hurting my account?

Just go to the _CommonRedist folder above the Addon Scenery folder and you'll find a folder with DX9.0c and another with two vredist.exe executables one for 32-bit and the other for 64-bit.

You need to install both of them.

Any other C++ runtime libraries should also appear in pairs according to year.

So pairs of x32 & x64 bit Visual Studio C++ runtime libraries.

Try that first.

NB You can uninstall FSX and re-install and it won't cost you anything.

Do NOT be tempted to buy a second copy, as it is not necessary.

If you really want to re-install FSX from scratch this is how to do it:

Check that your Operating System is 100% intact before you re-install...!

Hi Erazer. I had "Best Buy, GEEK SQUAD." go thru my computer and clean it out.
The Operating System is 100%.
This re-install that your talking about. Can I re-install the game onto itself?

1. When you have uninstalled FSX just as well to check the OS with the DISM commands and SFC so that you are certain that it's in 100% good condition to accept the re-install properly.

2. NO. You must uninstall first and make sure that there is no reference to FSX boxed in the registry or left over keys.

The difference that just one MS FSX key can make is that you don't get a standard Steam FSX installation so instead of getting a standard fsx.exe file Steam will make a file which is compatible with MS FSX and call it fsx_se.exe also with fsx_se.cfg

This is not really desirable as it can cause confusion when looking for the correct files.

What is vitally important is this. Immediately after the re-install says that it is 'complete' you MUST run the Verify Integrity of Game Files utility - BEFORE - you attempt to run FSX for the first time to be certain that it is actually 100% complete, as this is rarely the case in practise.

[Download transmission errors.]

I have uninstalled and re-installed twice. Once to replace MS FSX and secondly to install Steam FSX on a new SSD. [Much faster BTW.]

No problems at all.

Edit: Except for typos....
