Fsx disk version error 1722

I have error 1722 appearing on my download for fsx deluxe edition, it has 2 disks. I came here since there is no other forums what should i do to fix this?

A "duck duck go" search returned at least 10 items on several forums on "Fsx disk version error 1722". I'm sure Google would return hits on it too. Perhaps you should read some of these:

As a final check, open up File Explorer and type 'FSX' (without quotes) in the Search box to search local disk C. If any entries come up referring to FSX, then delete those as well. Now you should have no references to the old install of FSX.

Restore to a point before you tried to install FSX the first time. Are you logged in with Admin rights? Use only Deluxe or Gold (Best). Make a folder C:\FSX.

This is Ritesh and a Flight Simulator Fan, I have a resolution for the 1721 and 1722 that we are all facing while trying to install the Flight Simulator X. I had the same problem with a different program and fixed it.

Resetdll did not work for me, so....I installed using compatibility mode (Vista), uninstalled FSX only (not Acceleration), reinstalled FSX (Disk 1 & 2 only), prompted for license key and tested that it worked.

In summary: After initially transfering a working version of FSX from my XP machine to the new 8.1 machine with LapLink it worked flawlessly. A subsequent misdiagnosed printer issue by Dell tech support resulted in a refresh of 8.1 wiping out FSX (and many other apps).

Try downloading the Software Licensing System Reset Tool from MS

It is what I used after upgrading a lot of hardware in my old computer and before installing MS FSX Gold Edition Acceleration.

The tool is easy to use once you get the hang of the commands.

I tried these things the game installed and it stopped responding. I cant get it to open now and all my disk drive does is chatter irritatingly for unlimited amount of time. Its not the drive because fsx wouldnt have installed and ran otherwise. So now i tried to uninstall it and it wont uninstall. Might just buy the steam version and post the disks on amazon ebay or facebook, ive been at it for almost 3 weeks trying to get this game to work and my patience is almost at an end. Thank you all for all of your help. If you wanna help me with these issues i have now feel free to do so :)

If the drive is chattering then you DO need a new drive, especially if it is anywhere near eight years old.

I had to fit a new drive in my old computer and as soon as I did so MS FSX Gold Edition Acceleration installed easily with just one registry problem to overcome when activating the Acceleration pack.

I got hold of an ASUS DVD ReWriter for as little as $30 which is faster than the old Samsung drive. I use several pieces of hardware from ASUS as they are good value and reliable.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and fit a new drive.

Otherwise you can maybe do a little trick as I have had to do in the past.

Find a good computer and make .ISO files from your DVDs. Transfer them to your computer and install using a virtual drive.

If using Windows 10 look up on the internet as to how to disable the built in burner.
