Microsoft Flight Simulator Acceleration Will not Install nor Activate.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X Won't Install nor Activate.

You may just need to clear the old license entries as follows:

Windows 10:

1. Download Software Licensing System Reset Tool:

2. Make sure that you save file to your Desktop.

3. After the download is complete go to your Desktop and run MSKB928080.exe.

4. Accept the license agreement by clicking Yes.

5. Extract the files to C:MicrosoftKB928080 folder.

6. Open the Command Prompt as Administrator.

6a. Start>Menu>Windows System>Command Prompt> Right-click and choose 'More' and 'Run as Administrator.

7. When Command Prompt opens type the following lines and after each line press Enter to run it:

cd C:
cd MicrosoftKB928080
resetsldl -All

8. Close the Command Prompt window and try installing the game again.

This has nothing to do with FSX Steam Edition. SE already incorporates Acceleration and doesn't need activating.

Yes, I am fully aware of that.

It is for those who install both on the same computer.

You are obviously fairly intelligent?

And you, obviously, realise that this is the Steam Edition support forum?

If someone already had the Steam Edition installed, why would they want to install the (jnferior) boxed edition? If they already had the Gold boxed edition installed, they would probably already have Acceleration installed and activated. Why would people come here with problems concerning the boxed edition?

You should try asking them.

With the 4GB patch applied the boxed edition is as good as the Steam edition and more stable without having all manner of updates which don't apply to FSX such as those for controllers for other games.

4GB patch for MS FSX: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

As you say it is as obvious to me as it is to you.

Ps I have Steam FSX on this machine and had MS FSX on a previous non-computer.

I now use War Thunder on a Linux setup and it is quite brilliant.
