I don't know how many buttons you have on that yoke, but I have the quadrant but use a flightstick. We all have different equipment, but to give you an idea I will let you know what I would bind (in terms of importance - most used)

1. Brakes (apply/release) - mapped to a trigger or button if you have one. (select repeat action against this by moving the slider to the right in the settings)
2. Flaps up and down buttons (also can be mapped to a quadrant control stick)
3. Trim up and down... on buttons or yoke switch
4. ATC menu on button (if you use default atc)
5 External Locked Spot View
6 Gear up/down button
7. View (next in current category)

The rest is just preference to what you use mostly. You might like map view or gps instead.

As for views I have 4 buttons mapped for this because it works in any aircraft in 3D cockpit. Those are Eyepoint (move up and down) on two buttons and Eyepoint (move forward and back) on another 2 buttons. You could map those 4 to your throttle buttons and add a 'View (next in current category) button to get zoomed in to instruments quickly.

As for your reverse thrust on the quadrant. This works below the detent on the quadrant stick at the very bottom of it's range of movement. To set this select Throttle (decrease qickly) select repeat action by moving the slider) then click to change the mapping and then move the throttle lever to the very bottom position to activate it like a button. It acctually shows as a button,

Sorry I don't have those but I would imagine it's just rudder to main pedal movement and left and right brake applied to each side for the action when you push the toe forward to apply brakes. I would imagine the repeat action must be applied for the brakes. Maybe someone with these pedals can confirm.

The left and right brake pedals are axis on the saitek pedals so you don't need to mess about with button repeat just calibrate and assign them to toe brakes. I think I have to reverse some of the saitek axis, not sure, it's not a bug or anything just the way FSX picks up the controller.

Thanks Morag. The Thrustmaster pedals are almost winking at me on Amazon at £69 :-)

They look a bit small to me - I've not seen them IRL though but from the picture the pedals look really close together. Only thing I don't like about the Saiteks is they have a little notch at the centre point which is kinda nice to know you're neutral but does slightly get in the way.

Everything's a compromise though unless you spend stupid money :wasted:

One other little tip when you're setting up a yoke/pedeals setup - you can add a line to your FSX.cfg

[Controls]
stick_sensitivity_mode=0

then bump all the control sensitivity sliders to max and reduce dead zones to zero in the FSX settings.

This makes the controls in the sim and on your yoke/joystick linear, the only downside is you can only turn your head 180° using the space bar and mouse look. Hat switch and number keys still work ok just the mouse look breaks a bit.

Thanks Morag ... you know a few years back I returned a Saitek yoke because I felt I could not get the same precision or control that I have with my flightstick. I wish I had known about that sensitivity/deadzone fix, as that's probably why it felt like a spongy mess to me. It did mess with the settings but never got it right.
