Installing the font didn't fix it for me, and I get the same error. This is the work around that got it going for me, whether or not it will work for you I can't say, but it's worth a try and it can't hurt anything..........
Make sure you run the FSDT live update add-on manager which should have been created as a shortcut on your desktop when you installed the QW757. If it's not on your desktop download it here..... http://www.qualitywingssim.com/installers.html Bottom of the page. Then install and run it.
Start FSX and select one of the QW757 house liveries (doesn't matter which one) then pick an airport and click fly now. When the plane loads if the gauges don't appear select any other livery that you want to fly from the menu bar (Aircraft/Select Aircraft drop down menu) while FSX is still running and click OK, give it a few seconds and the gauges should load up now.
Don't ask me how or why it works like this for me, but it does.
If you can get it going the QW757 is one of the best add on aircraft out there IMHO, the virtual cockpit is one of the best I've seen, the external aircraft models are simply outstanding, and the livery manager makes installing and/or un-installing the multitude of free liveries a breeze.
Good luck.
Excellent..!!
I'm glad it helped, the QW 757 is an outstanding add on and it flys like a dream. Don't forget to get some of the great free liveries that are available at the QW website 757 page, and use the livery manager to install them.
I'm really glad it worked for you, and I'm very pleased that my suggestions have solved the issue for some people.
The QW 757 is reportedly coming to P3D in the near future, I'm really looking forward to this because it's one of the best payware add on aircraft available IMHO.
The CS 757 III base pack with Pratt & Whitney engines runs $75 and they nick you another $30 if you want to add the Rolls Royce engined expansion, so now we're up to $100, and the CS 757 currently offers only the 757-200 series, the 300 series and freighter versions are "in development", but true to Captain Sim's usual practice these will all be offered separately for FSX and P3D in individual expansion packages at a cost of probably $30 each, so if you want everything, ie. all engine and series options, it could end up costing you well over $200 by the time you're done. OUCH!!
The QW 757 includes both Pratt and Rolls engined versions in 200, 300, and freighter versions in one package, the only disadvantage for the QW 757 right now is P3D v4 compatibility is still in the works, but it will be worth the wait for me.
Perhaps the CS 757 does have more features, i'll take your word for it, but for the money the QW
757 has a beautiful virtual cockpit with all the features I need, and an excellent fully animated external model with over 130 high quality free liveries available. It's pretty new so I doubt Capatain Sim has anywhere near that many liveries.
