Anyone got any batting tips !!
It's still a mystery to me. I may have hit 120 home runs, but I couldn't tell you what I did.
I've read threads where people talk about chipping over the infield - how ? Placing shots in a certain direction - how ?

I tend to move the aim reticle to the outside edge of the 'hitting box', slightly below centre, and wait for a pitch in that general vicinity. If I need to move the reticle then I'm all lost as I'm so uncertain of the rules... If there are any rules at all ?

How do you make it go where you want ? Left, right, in the air or into the ground.
Any help greatly appreciated.

you move the reticle to where the ball is being pitched (move the circle to the cross) not the other way around.
The ball's path is affected by where you hit the ball, in other words, if you hit the ball with the circle reticle slightly high on the cross, the ball will be hit downward. if you are batting RH v RH pitcher, and you hit the ball with reticle too far to the right of the cross, the ball will pull left and go foul. and so on.

Also, obviously the timing of the swing affects where and how the ball will go, the physics of which should be intuitively clear.

to place the reticle before the pitch and wait for the ball to go there is preposterous....

The OP was written while I was still relatively new to the game and therefore playing at a low skill level. So I could generally wait for a pitch to come my way !!

I'm now skill level 70 and really still struggle !! The height is OK, but the number of balls I still hit straight is unbelievable. As a result I run into a lot of double plays. As you say, timing is key. And, maybe I'm being a bad workmen here by blaming the tools, but, picking the speed of ball is what I find hardest. Maybe there's some clues I'm just not picking up on ?

When I say I'm level 70, I'm actually still playing at ego 65. As soon as I go to ego 66 I just can't hit anything so it looks like I've reached about as far as I can.
