[Solution found] Game won't start
I just installed the game from a DVD, registered it with Steam and was about to get my controller set up when the game suddenly froze. I closed it down via task manager, then wanted to start it up again, but it doesn't work anymore. I just got a blank box before Windows told me there's a problem with the game and it stopped running. Windows did not specify the nature of said problem. So I uninstalled, re-installed (this time from Steam, download and everything), but I'm still getting the same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be, or how I can fix this? Many thanks in advance!

Im having almost the exact same problem. Had to close it via task manager and now whenever I try to open the game, nothing happens. Don't get any error dialogue or anything at all.

edit: downloading the game again. I'll report what happens though with your post, I don't have much hope.

So I removed the game via "delete local content" and downloaded it again. It's working now for me.

I'm glad you found a solution! Didn't work for me, so I'm hoping Support will get back to me soon. I'll keep everyone posted!

I have Directx 11. Is that the version that works for you?

Fixed it on mine!!! Go into the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\ LBM3 and change the Data for DirectX from 11 to 9 and it worked for me.

There is a menu option in the game where you can change from DirectX 11 to 9. Also there 2 exe files in the installed folder. One is for DirectX 11 the other for 9. Try them both and see which one works.

Yes, DirectX 11 was the problem. Thank you for your help, everyone, finally I get to play!

Another solution for those trying to get the game to launch is to set your desktop resolution to 1024x768 or so and then launch the game. Once it loads, set the game resolution to a higher setting, drop back to the desktop, up your resolution again, use alt-tab to switch back to Batman and confirm the new screen resolution.

Ive had similar issues with Lego Batman 3.
DirectX needs setting to version 9 in the game files. ( Plenty of info if you search for it ).

But I also had issues with the game random crashing.
Traced it ( eventually ) to an issue with the graphics card. An ATI Radeon 1950x Saphire.
Listed as minimum spec for the game on the back of the box. So "should" have worked.
Did... "Sometimes"..

>:(

Ended up replacing that with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 480. Then having to replace the power supply as it wasn't man enough to run the GTX 480 ( A 500Watt supply in a HP XW6200 twin 3.2Ghz Xeon Processor PC ). Then, add to that TWO Microsoft X-Box controllers to make the game playable on a PC. As two people on the keyboard is nigh on impossible....

A Game that started out costing me £12 for the DVD. + DLC's later.
Ended up costing Nearer £150!!

Might have been easier to just have bought a PS4!!
Certainly a lot easier on the noggin.. Pulling my hair out trying to figure out all the issues with this game.

Disappointed that the minumum spec listed on the box didn't actually work.
Disappointed that there were so many issues with the software ( DirectX 9 / 11 ) - Do Tt Games not have 'Modern Pc's at their software house?

It's gonna make me think twice about buying Batman 4 if ( when ) it eventually surfaces.
:(
