If they where on only one oder two islands, why not, but... I think, you should play The Forest. There you have MANY cannibals (sometimes too many, hehe).

I play both games. The Forest is cool, but the cannibal-mutation-thing is a bit too annoying for me. And there are no other dangerous things or more animals like lizzards and rabbits not edible birds. No boars, no bears, no rats, which eat your stored food. You can't get on the sea, etc.

Natives would be ok, because they could be friendly or unfriendly, change goods or hunts you. If they would hunt you, they don't must be cannibals. They only don't want share the limited resources with you. ;-) That should be danger enough.
