Stranded Deep
Save Editor and World Mapper (v0.03H1)
Stranded Deep Save Editor and Mapper: http://sd.tiermann.net

Updated for v0.03H1 of the game.
I mostly wrote this to add items back into my inventory after losing them to the hotfix update. Also useful for modders/devs who need to teleport, check node names, or test settings. It's been tested with v0.03H1 and haven't had any issues.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Inventory and Spawn Options:
  • Add/Remove items from your inventory.
  • Boost stats on items before you add them. For example, changing the durabilityPoints of an Axe will make it last longer.
  • Spawn items at your location, including rafts, shipwrecks, cabinets/cases. See the warning on the "Spawn Items" tab after you load your save in the Editor.

Game Options:
  • Reset Loot (all previously opened toolboxes, lockers, hardcases, are reset and new loot is spawned when opened again).
  • Make Existing Fires Burn "Forever" (All camp fires that are currently already built in the world will have their fuelPoints set to 9999999 and lit).
  • Upgrade Existing Fires To Fire Spit (turns any camp fires or fire pits into full fire spits)
  • "Infinite" Fuel For Existing Motors (Sets all motors to 9999999 durabilityPoints)
  • Remove Existing Whales (Removes all existing whales from the world. New ones will spawn as you explore new biomes.)
  • Remove Existing Sharks (Removes all existing, living sharks from the world. New ones will spawn as you explore, and your dead shark trophies will not be removed.)
  • Change Date/Time.

Player Options:
  • Toggle goggles and flippers on/off.
  • Cure Poison/Sick and Fix Wounds/Broken Bones (removes the playerEffect for each)
  • Adjust Health, Calorie, Fluid, Breath, and Body Temperature.
  • Coming Soon: Viewing stats like calories eaten, distance walked, etc. (I'll wait until more are added to the game)

World Mapper (beta):
  • Yellow = Island
  • Orange = Foundation
  • Green = Shipwrecks
  • Red = Planewrecks
  • Blue = Sharks
  • Black = Whales
  • Blinking Magenta Dot w/White Border = You
  • Water Biomes (Blue = Visited, Black = Unvisited)
  • Teleport by double-clicking on a yellow island. Warning: You may end up at the bottom of the ocean, or in a rock when you first load. Be prepared to swim up, and crouching will get you out of the ground. It shouldn't happen often now.
  • Hover mouse over an island, water biome, or shipwreck to see extra info. Islands and water biomes show the compass degrees from your current location.
  • Right-Click an island or water biome for more info.
------------------------------------------------------------------

This is completely in javascript, and works with Chrome, Firefox, and IE10+ without issues. Nothing to download. Nothing to upload (all done on the client side).

Mac OSX users: "Library>Application support>Steam>" is where your steamapps folder is. It's usually hidden. You'll need to make an un-hidden copy of your save somewhere else to load it in the editor.

Let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas on features to add. Items that I don't have listed are because I haven't found them in-game yet this time around.

Stranded Deep Save Editor and Mapper: http://sd.atilton.info

-------------------------------------------------------------
Changes:
  • Map: Now shows SeaForts.
  • Inventory/Spawn: Updated the Torch.
  • Inventory/Spawn: Added Fishtrap, Seafort 1 & 3, Seafort Bridge, Seafort Bridge Broken. The seafort looks awesome on an island. Clear all the trees first :P.
  • General: Tested with 0.03H1. Still working.
  • General: Tested with 0.03 of the game. Seems to be working. I will add the new fish trap item, and update old ones if there are any issues.
  • Map: The degrees it gives you now account for the compass not being centered on the cursor. Thanks, Gaben!
  • Spawn: Added Goggles and Flippers to spawnable items.
  • General: Added progress bar when loading a file so you can see it's still working in the background (that's one thing I can't speed up if you have a large file. FileReader just works that way, and it's still under 10 seconds for my giant 11.6MB save.). Code optimizations to speed up what I can.
  • Spawn/Inventory: Added dead Marlin, and Reef Shark. Also added Spear Gun, Spear Gun Arrow (not fully working), LOCKER_2, and LOCKER_3.
  • Spawn/Inventory: Added Banana! You can drop/pickup/eat it, but it has no object yet when you hold it. Still tasty! Thanks I-o-IPositive7!
  • Inventory: Fixed bug where loading a save with an empty inventory in the Editor would cause the save button to not work.
  • Map: Updated plotting for better accuracy. Nodes will show distance as well as degrees from your current location.
  • Spawn/Inventory: There are now images for every inventory and spawn item.
  • Map: Added Shark and Whale to the map. You can also turn any of the mapped items on/off by clicking the name in the top bar. For example, if you don't want to see sharks on the map, click "Sharks" on the top bar.
  • Map: Fixed slow teleporting when double-clicking an island.
  • Spawn Items: Added Foundation. Will give you a ground-level foundation. Useful if you can't build where you're standing, or you want to build on a shipwreck.
  • Spawn Items: Added dead Tiger Shark. Also a couple code changes to speed things up.
  • Spawn/Inventory: Added images for all inventory items on the "Add" dialog. Images for spawn-only items will be added as I get a chance.
  • General: Added drag/drop support. You can now drag your save file over the "Load Save File" box, and drop it to load it.
  • Spawn/Inventory: Added Cloth, SHIPWRECK_7A, CONSOLE_3.
  • General: Optimized code to speed up loading times on larger worlds in the Editor.
  • Spawn Items: Added Plane Wreck, Rowboat, Crab Home, Dead Great White, Dead Sea Turtle, Dead Stingray, Yucca, and Potato Plant.
  • Map: Added Planewrecks in red.
  • Map: Added object info about the shipwrecks when you hover the mouse over them. Added right-click on islands and water biomes to see more info, including all objects in that node.
  • Map: Player positioning is accurate now. Also added shipwreck locations in green.
  • Spawn Items: Added Foundation Raft, and Life Raft.
  • Spawn Items: Adjusted spawn height. Fixed bug where the spawn items wouldn't clear when loading a different save. Added Bed, Fire (Spit), Console, Hardcase, Locker, Toolbox, and Wall Cabinet. Containers spawn loot when first opened.
  • Spawn Items: You can now spawn items at your location, including all carriable items, and even palm trees and shipwrecks. More coming soon. See the warning on the "Spawn Items" tab after loading your save in the editor.

can you tell me how to upload the .json on a mac? Ive opened it before, but on the website, it is hiding the folder i need. Thanks

From the opening post...
Mac OSX users: "Library>Application support>Steam>" is where your steamapps folder is. It's usually hidden. You'll need to make an un-hidden copy of your save somewhere else to load it in the editor.

Thanks. but the save is just the .json file right? Can i just put it on the desktop and then upload that one?

As long as your desktop isn't hidden, that should work.

ok thanks, and then do i have to remove sharks by myself or does the editor do that? Sorry, I'm sorta confused.
I guess I've been using your tool too often since I messed up my savegame completely. Now I can't even import the file into your Save-Editor. I get the error message: "The file is not in the correct format." Loading the savegame will spawn me up in to the sky and i cant do anything

The Save Editor won't cause that. It only returns proper json code. If you've edited the file in a text editor, you may have left out a comma or brace "{ }" or quote somewhere.
One way to find out where the error is would be to paste it in a json validator, like this one...
http://jsonlint.com/

As it says in red at the top of the Editor...
It is completely safe as long as you make a copy of your save file, nothing can go wrong.[/quote]

It's an option on the "Game" tab when you load your save file in the editor. You'll see it there.

Yes, the editor did that! I never touched the text editor.

The save editor does not delete your backup.
Update!

Spawn Items: Added Plane Wreck, Rowboat, Crab Home, Dead Great White, Dead Sea Turtle, Dead Stingray, Yucca, and Potato Plant.
Map: Added Planewrecks in red.

The only thing I need now is the UFO. If anyone found a UFO in the game, please send me your Save.json.

I really like this tool, thanks a lot.
Love this! It saves the game from boredom. The map is awesome - keep up the good work. This should be intergrated into the game itself. A little awkward to use, but works nonetheless. Thanks!
Update!

Screw survival, the game is more fun when you can build a huge hut. If only you could go beyond a first floor. I did figure out a way to get up on the roof using a strategically placed palm tree as a ladder. You can even walk around and place object up on the roof!

If you can build a raised Foundation anywhere on the outside edge of your hut close to roof level, you can build steps and not need the palm tree anymore. If the ground is even enough, you can even build of of that and use the roof as a patio, hehe.
