You right click the game, select properties - betas - then it's usually the top stable version you want :)
I tried a former version, but it was very limited unfortunately. Could start a new world, but couldn't really edit any world features including the animal behaviour or difficulty in general, so I couldn't test it out. There's just one option, plus the main menu looks very different. I can't say that it will look the same in other versions, but I'll most likely just end up waiting until they fix the bug and start a new save at that point if my current one fails :)
Yeah, I'm currently waiting too. Playing Green Hell meanwhile. But have to say, I love the ocean scenery more than the rain forest.
Agreed! :)
Tried rolling back and that is a no-go ~ and playing on this version is just as much a no-go. Not only does the passive setting not function, but I've been experiencing possibly a bug where all of a sudden any animal on land ends up hovering about two of the tall palm trees height, then disappears. They don't reappear, and worse, as soon as I save or sleep, EVERY animal but small fish disappears. No seagulls. No bats. No small crabs. I'm left with sardines and sharks with large chips on their shoulders.
I've never been interested in co-op, and I doubt I'll ever be. What I know is that my go-to relax and unwind game is now fubar and it is just plain infuriating. In the past, none of these bugs would have been around more than a few days ... maybe a week. Now that co-op has launched, I'm starting to think that the only work that will be done will be for that. I have other games to play if I want to always be on guard and tense; this was my escape from all of that along with the RL problems, and words like rankled, vexed, etc. all apply. Mostly I'm just very sad because I doubt that I'll find one to replace it any time soon.
For instancee I play SCUM (on my own server; away from warhungry morons xD), and the Devs who made the game are so amazing and listening to people, that it makes it worth the wait with what they have in store for the future. They also fix bugs fairly fast - for game breaking bugs, it's tops a week; TOPS! So this waiting for Deep Stranded to get fixed for so long is odd in my world, to say the least.
If you're looking for another relaxing game, with the same features as Stranded Deep set in a rainforrest, then Green Hell has a mode called "Tourist" (I believe), where everything is turned off. No aggressive behaviour. You can even manually set whatever you want to "off", even your health and hunger/thirst/energy to be turned off. I have never tried setting health to be off, so I am not sure if you cannot hurt yourself from falling down, but otherwise there will be no aggressive things.
