Do all the plants regrow after picking them and how long if so?

Plants only regrow if you plant them in farm plots and it takes about 2-3 days for a plant to become fully grown. Only Fibrous Leaves and Yucca trees grow back.

most ingredients can be built up in farming plots.

As soon as you decide which island will be your home base, start growing at least 1 or 2 pipi plants immediately. They are used to make antidote for use when you are poisoned. Be sure to keep them watered, or they will die. This applies to all of your plants.

Furthermore, I prefer to use the corrugated farms since they hold the most water—which is helpful when you leave to explore other islands. You can usually leave for five days safely without the plants dying. Plank farms hold the same amount of water as the corrugated, but I save my planks to make shelves for crates on my raft.

You also want to farm 1 to 4 Yucca plants (for fibrous leaves), at least 1x Ajuga plant to make breathboosts, at least 2x Aloe plants to make Aloe Salve, and (optionally) grow 4 to 6 potatoes if you plan to make fuel for a raft engine; however, if you only plan to use a sail on your raft... you don't need to grow potatoes.

BB, I agree with all you say. But I think the plank garden plot gets max 6 water, while the corrugated holds 8. I need to do another test, I did one a while ago and those were the resultts, but things might have changed or my memory doesn't serve me right.

I usually have 2 pipi, 2 ayuga, 3 aloe, 1 quawawa and 1 kura (last 2 for making gauze).
Then I have the yuccas planted in a different spot, close to my water wells. Usually I plant an even number of those.

You're probably right. I'm still playing a game on an older version (.70), and I think back then they were the same— re: the farming plots (plank vs. corrugated). Please correct me if I'm wrong. My memory doesn't always serve me well either.

So you're saying that the plank farming plot holds less water in the most recent version? Good to know...

Just wondering why the quwawa and kura given bandages seem a much easier option. Its actually something I'd like to see in the game that bandages can no longer be made so that quwawa and kura need to be farmed, but for now, bandages seem the easier option.

Huh? You need to water your plants? I never do. How do you water them? There are no watering cans or watering hoses and pumps in the game.

if it is an item you can use to store water, have it in hand, walk to your farming plot, use on plot. And yes, if you get enough rain on your island, you won't need to water them.
There are three water vessels you can make. 1. The coconut flask holds 1 portion of water. 2. you can make a leather-based water flask (once you have the tanning rack), which holds 3 portions of water. 3. You can make a clay pot/flask (once you have clay and the furnace built) which will hold 5 portions of water.

You can fill all of those at your water still, then go to your farming plots, and if they are low on water, you can add water until they are "full". I'll usually make a water still close to my farming plots, just so I don't run back and forth a lot when I'm watering my farming plots.

If you choose to play the end game; you will need to provide water for your end game attempt; so you'll need some of those vessels to carry water there.

But I can see how you can frequently get away without watering your farming plots; if there are frequent enough storms, the storms will water your farm plots for you.

I'll also take water while traveling; to gain some extra time exploring a new isle before I pick a spot to build a water still (which usually means that's my base point on that island). And as you know drinking too much coconut water too frequently isn't good for your health (in this game anyway).
