How do you make a shelter?

I'm pretty new and wanna know how to make a shelter plz

you can find a hammer by searching ship wrecks or you can make a crude hammer with some sticks, rocks, and lashings. Lashings are made by cutting down yucca plants.

First thing is clean up your island and gather all the stuff easy to get.

Collect all Sticks on the ground you see.
Collect all Rocks on the ground you see.

Use knife to cut all the Yucca Plants to make Lashings.

Now make a pile of Sticks, Rocks and Lashings and you can craft an AXE from these resources.

As you get more sticks and rocks and other items you can craft more things like a Hammer.

Once you have a Hammer you can craft different things because you have a tool to build with now.

Just learn that the items must touch each other to be part of the Crafting recipe.
