The game was made with the unity engine.

Unity3d - uses javascript or c sharp programming

3dsmax, maya or blender for modling
Photoshop was use most likely for a variety of things.

If your wanting to keep your overhead on your project as low as possible I would Recomend Blender for modeling (open source...very powerful), Gimp for textures (free as well..and very powerful) ..and yes ...Unity (Free version if you can get away with it...depends on what you want to do). You can also get some get software for making your Specular, Normal, and other maps for cheap if you don't want to use Gimp on those (Gimp can be rather time consuming on this)...I recomend MindTex...got it on Steam for 12.00 and it's a big time saver for me, and has really good options for such a cheap priced piece of software.

I appreciate the in depth support thank you :)
p.s do you know any good tutorials for u.v mapping and texturing ? or any good ways to learn?

You can find tons On You tube...thats how i learned...Just looks up Blender UV's Unwrapping on there. It's is also trial and error though. Also learned Unity through YouTub tutorials...I think that would be your best options. Best thing to do when serching is to search for specifics to what you are doing to find the tutorials that would best suite your needs.

Google search 3dbuzz. Should find a video or forum there. Photoshop seemed nicer with unwrapping. I havent used the other program that guy mentioned before so I cant speak for it.
